Tour Overview
Hunza Valley tour takes you to the lush green mountainous valleys in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Hunza is situated in the extreme northern part of Pakistan bordering the Xinjiang region of China. Hunza Valley’s natural splendour and position on the Central Asian Silk Route has attracted travellers, merchants, and mountaineers for centuries. Beyond its iconic glaciers, fertile apricot farms, and turquoise lakes, the region is also rich in cultural heritage. Hunza Valley tour allows you to explore the local rich culture and customs, taste the local food and see history come to life in front of your eyes. These elements will transform you from a tourist into a great traveller. Hunza Valley tour in Pakistan is one of the best tours in the world, where you will experience the Khunjerab Pass, also explore the Ancient Silk Route, Baltit & Altit Fort, Fairy Meadows and the world-famous mountains Nanga Parbat and Rakaposhi.
For many years Trango Adventure have been offering services to Hunza Valley tour enthusiasts from around the world. Trango Adventures operates an 11-13 days long Hunza Valley tour to the lush green Valley of Hunza. The duration may be longer or shorter depending on the client’s experience, ability and time.
The Hunza Valley tour starts from Islamabad. Your guide will meet & greet you at Islamabad International Airport, then transfer you to the hotel for a rest to recover from the journey. We will meet again in the afternoon for a briefing about the tour. Next day you will start your epic journey towards the North on the famous Karakoram Highway to reach Chilas.
Chilas appears to be an ‘oasis in a desert’ with a unique charm. Here you will have a magnificent view of the three World’s highest Mountain ranges: the Karakoram in the north, the Himalayas in the east and the Hindu Kush in the west. Chilas is the getaway to Nanga Parbat 8,126 meters. After spending the night in Chilas, you will Continue the Hunza Valley tour by following the Karakoram Highway with the view of Nanga Parbat in the background to Karimabad.
Karimabad is the Capital of Hunza Valley which is surrounded by the Pillars of the mighty Karakoram mountains. You will spend the night in a nice hotel in Karimabad. Wake up early to a spectacular sunrise view over the Rakaposhi mountain. After breakfast, you will head out to explore the thousand-year-old Altit Fort and 700-year-old Baltit Fort. After exploring Karimabad you will drive up to Eagle Nest for a night’s Stay. This is the best spot for the view of Hunza Valley and watch the Spectacular sunset.
After spending the night at Eagle Nest, you will drive on the Karakoram Highway to Khunjerab Pass. Khunjerab Pass is the high-altitude border between Pakistan and China. The scenery on the way from Karakoram Highway is stunning. This is the last stop of your journey so you will head back towards Islamabad via Fairy Meadow, the base camp of Nanga Parbat.
The Fairy Meadows is the perfect place to relax and unwind; watch the clouds dance past Nanga Parbat, the glacier snaking through the valley below, and explore the cool woods surrounding our log cabins. There is an optional day to trek around Nanga Parbat before you head back to Islamabad. Night stay in Islamabad then transfer you to the airport for your flight back home. We believe that our “Hunza Valley tour” will create a lifelong memory which will stay with you for a long time.

ACCOMMODATION
During the Hunza Valley tour, the group will spend all night in a good international tourist standard hotel (3-star). Accommodation at each of these hotels is twin-sharing with en-suite facilities. If you are travelling by yourself you will be paired with another single client of the same sex. It is possible to hire a single room for an additional cost. Additional hotel nights in Islamabad are also available. For hotel prices and single supplement costs please refer to the dates and prices page of the trip on our website. Hotels are subject to availability and prices may vary.
HEALTH & VACCINATION
You should contact your doctor or travel clinic to check whether you specifically require any vaccinations or other preventive measures. You should be up to date with routine courses and boosters as recommended in the UK e.g. diphtheria-tetanus-polio and measles-mumps-rubella), along with hepatitis A and typhoid. Malarial prophylaxis is discretionary for this trip. Malaria exists in the area around Islamabad. However, incidences of urban transmission of malaria are extremely low. On holidays to more remote areas, you should also have a dentist check-up. A good online resource is Travel Health Pro. Dengue fever is a known risk in places visited. It is a tropical viral disease spread by daytime-biting mosquitoes. There is currently no vaccine or prophylaxis available and therefore the best form of prevention is to avoid being bitten. We recommend you take precautions to avoid mosquito bites.s

ALTITUDE
Hunza Valley Tour involves going to high altitudes. During your trip, you will be above 2000 metres for 1-2 days. This is not something that you should worry about; the human body is quite capable of adapting to a very wide range of altitudes, but we must follow some simple rules to acclimatize successfully. Before coming on this holiday you should get some basic advice on Tours at high altitudes.
CLIMATE
From mid-June to August, we can expect to encounter temperatures as high as 35°C at Islamabad, Naran and Gilgit, and 30°C in The Gilgit & Hunza regions. Weather is generally good throughout the summer season, with clear skies and little rain or snow. However, weather in mountainous areas is difficult to predict, and short-lived storms can occur at any time.
